There are many things in your past life that you are probably ashamed of and you feel the guilt due to your sin. This is good. God only saves sinners, so you can rest assured that He can save you. He desires that you grow to hate your sin and your sinful ways. He knows that you deserve to be put into hell for all that you have done. You should agree with God about this. However, because He still loves you, He has provided a sacrifice to take your place in judgment.

Jesus Christ has already been punished by God for your sins. He suffered in your place. God is ready to forgive you if you will turn from your evil ways to Jesus.

Jesus will save you and take you to heaven with Him when you have completed His purpose for you on this earth. After Jesus died, He rose from the dead and went into heaven where He sits on the right hand of the Father. He is our living proof that His sacrifice for us has been accepted by God. We can now go to God as our Father through Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but through Me.” If you come to God through Jesus, He will accept you as a son. Please come to Him… – John 6:37; 14:6.

You have learned the ways and walked in the ways of Satan for a time already. Now is the time to change masters and serve Christ for the remainder of your life (regardless of how long that will be; God knows). In your Bible read carefully chapter 12 of Isaiah. Note particularly verse 1 of chapter 12.

If you put your trust in Jesus, His dying at Calvary has turned God’s anger away from you for your sin. You can now rest in His love.

It is very important that you face honestly what you have done in your past. As consequences to his sin, King David suffered the loss of His child, the brokenness of His family, and the division of his kingdom. Regardless of whether you spend your years bearing the consequences of your sins here on earth as King David did or not, you can live a life for God.

You can be free and happy within if you know the love that God has for you. His love does not depend on how well or how poorly you do. He loves you because God is love. See 1 John 4:9-10; John 8:36.

He desires your good always. It is Satan that desires to destroy you. Look up John 8:44 in the New Testament, and you will see what Satan is like. Satan desires to destroy you. He will if allowed to. Satan wants to destroy you because he knows that if you follow Jesus you will begin to show forth the wonderful character of God which Satan hates. Your only safety is to be found in Jesus Christ. He has defeated Satan at Calvary, and in Him you can be kept safe.

This is another reason why you need to trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Do it today if you have not already – 2 Timothy 1:9-12.

Now, the world around us will generally side with Satan and not God, so you cannot do what everyone else is doing if you want to please God. You will need to make friends with other believers who will encourage you to live in agreement with God. As you study the Word of God, you will come to understand more about how God thinks and acts. He wants you to think and act the same way. Satan attempts to keep you from reading and learning about God in the Bible. Now is the time to begin to learn to read and learn what God thinks. Make sure you attend Bible studies whenever you can. Ask other Christians to read and talk about the Bible with you.
